Extremely rare and unique Laszlo Hoenig ( Hungary/ England 1905-71) Dancing Female nude in fruitwood and brass, fully stamped on base Laho London, circular monogram Made in England, in excellent condition, the body has impressed circular indentations on timber in four sections, but I believe this was original to the carving.
This figure is the only one ever seen of its type and I believe it was manufactured as a commission.
Laszlo Hoenig was an Architect, Interior designer, cabinet maker and sculptor.
He studied at the Bauhaus in Germany before moving to England in the 1930s.
He also worked at Hagenauer Werkstatte Vienna prior to moving to England in the 1930s.
